Should tobacco companies be held responsible for smoking-related illnesses and deaths?
I feel that in some cases tobacco companies should definately be held responsible for some smoking related illnessess because, I've read that for over 50 years, the true facts about the health risks of cigarette smoking were hidden from the public.Cigarette smoking is now the largest preventable cause of deaths in the United States. Nearly one in every five deaths in the United States is smoking related, and tobacco use results in more 167 billion dollars. They should be held responsible especially if they hid a lot of important information from the public. This means that there can be alot of tabacco deaths that went unotice, and they probably should have been punished a long ago so why not hold them accountable now. There are a lot of dangers that come from using tabacco like: nicotine addiction, lung cancer, secondhand smoke, third hand smoke( the negative effects from tobacco are not limited to the smoke)r. Secondhand smoke is more toxic than the smoke inhaled through the filter.
What prevention techniques and/or penalties should be applied to child molestation and child abuse?
One in three girls and one in six boys experience an unwanted sexual act. Ninety-five percent of the time, the child knows the abuser. One way to prevent child abuse is, if you are a parent talk openly with your children about the awareness of child sexual abuse. Another way is to teach children to respect their bodies. Most importantly supervise your children well.
Repeat child molesters are becoming more and more an issue today. Sometimes, they are set free, only to shatter the life of another innocent child. Lucky there is a bill in place to ensure that repeat child molesters face the toughest penalty possible. It's called senate bill 1747.This Bill is designed make repeat child molesters subject to life in prison without parole or even the death penalty. I feet that child molesters should get atleast a mandatory 20 years. Repeat offenders should get life in prison or the death penalty. Honeslty I dislike child molesters more than murderers because they are vitimizing human beings who are unable to defend themselves.
Should the federal government provide health care for all citizens who cannot afford their own
I feel that the government should provide free healthcare for citizens who can't afford it, because healthcare has become increasingly unaffordable.Without free health care coverage there will be a lot of untreated illnesses. Having free medical insurance will encourage citizen to take their meds and inquire about problems early when treatment is still light, but now citizens often avoid physicals and other preventive measures because of the costs. It's a recession rigth now, most citizens are barely getting by struggling with every day household bills, let along medical insurance. I mean
why would the government want to live in a world with a bunch of ill people. The number of uninsured U.S. residents including illegal immigrants has grown to over 45 million.

Why so many children run away from home
They are many diffrent reasons why children run away. some may come from abrusive families, or poverty stricken neighborhoods. Some leave to escape a mother's death or a stepfather's sexual molestation, but many teens feel they are running away from parents who don't love them anymore or don't want them, some feel unloved and unappreciated or maybe like their family are better off without them. Surveys show that about 40 percent of homeless young people in the U.S have parents who actually locked their children out of the house. These children, often called "throwaways," may come from families who just can't deal with teenagers or aren't finacially stable enough to care for them. Although their are some teenagers that are just defiant and don't want to obey house rules so they choose to run away. What ever the case may be it causes more homelessness in our communities.
The effect of poverty on an individual
The effect of poverty on an individual is huge, because you become a product of your environment.
If your poor and your family is poor and you grow up poor you eventually get tired of being poor and eventually say hey, I'm tired of being broke what are some ways to get some quick money...hhuuuuummm.
Their are findings to support that, impoverished children consistantly fare worse than, their middle class counterparts in school and eventually in life. Stress is a plausible model for how poverty could get into the brain and eventually interfere with acievement.Compared to middle class kids, poor children tend to go to ill-equipped and ill-taught schools, have fewer educational resources at home, eat low- nutrition food, and have less access to health care. I also feel that theirs a lot of hidden racism employment wise and that effects the crime rate among impoverised individuals. I don't want to make up an excuse for the people that arent trying but i do feel that hte system is designed for some to fail.

The Rise of the wives
In the artcle "The Rise Of The Wives" by Gwen Parks It didn't really surprise me that in 1 in 5 marriages women are more educated and earn more money than their husbands. I've always believe that women were smarter than men in general. So to hear this doesn't seem new.Howeveer it does feel good to know that women hhave come so far.
I also never knew that more women attended college than men then men 30 to 44 years ago, and to to hear that for men getting married is economically beneficial to I guess you really do learn something new everyday because I definately didin't know any of this. I found this article very interesting because I found out alot of new things.
